About Therapeutic Crafters on Call
Therapeutic Crafters on Call (TCC) was founded to work with diverse groups that would benefit from learning crafting skills.
Ellen Rubin left her cancer research job to open a “brick and mortar” store. In 2017, she opened LUV2KNIT & MORE, a full-service yarn store which is the base support for TCC. Ellen says, “I am grateful that I can impart my love of knitting to others. With its scientifically-based benefits, students who learn to knit develop life-long skills and can experience the joys of creativity.”
TCC also works with young people such as Boy Scouts, students with emotional needs, and teen-age foster care clients. Additional outreach includes veterans, cancer patients, and dialysis patients.

Our Store
Luv2knit & More
LUV2KNIT stocks a wide range of yarns with a wide price range. We have cotton that is especially suitable for baby and children’s items, as well as luxurious cashmere for an extra-special garment. The inventory includes linen, alpaca, mohair, and many fiber blends such as merino wool and silk.
The “notions” wall includes knitting needles and crochet hooks, tape measures, scissors, project bags, soap for woolens, stitch markers, and other items to make the knitting and crocheting go smoothly.
In addition to the “touchy-feely” experience, an LYS provides service not readily available elsewhere. Â LUV2KNIT offers:
- Pattern selection and step-by-step support
- Special orders for yarn and notions
- Private and small group classes
- Fun events such as birthday parties and a “Friends night out”
- Finishing and sewing together garments
